Caitlin’s Name Frame Thursday, Mar 29 2007

My baby leaves tomorrow for her spring break vacation. She’s traveling back to Wichita to see her brothers and friends. It’s all she wanted for her sweet sixteenth birthday. (Wow… my baby is turning 16!) I am going to miss her terribly. So, I may be posting like crazy as I stamp the week away. I just finished making her best friend’s birthday present for her to take with her. I thought I’d post it today to share with you. I had one heck of a time getting a good picture of it. Afterwards, I got to thinking that taking the glass out for the picture probably would have done the trick. One of those “DUH!” moments. Anyway, here’s a peek at her name frame. Hope she likes it.
Be sure to check back next week as I get on the “Blog Candy” wagon and give something away. I love the idea and can always find something to make or give.
See ya next week, friends!
Love~ Angel

So Very
SO very blessed! Family, friends, home, health, children, love… I could go on and on. Isn’t God amazing? There is one blessing in particular that I just have to marvel at.
Months ago God set the wheels in motion for us to move. We didn’t want to move and we tried very hard to get to stay in Kansas. But that just wasn’t God’s plan. So we sold our cherished home and here we are in Georgia. At around the same time, my friend Shelley’s husband put in his paperwork to retire and started looking for employment. They had decided to try and move to Atlanta to be near Shelley’s siblings. Ken was trying for a job at AirTran there. He didn’t hear from AirTran and the clock was ticking so he put in applications elsewhere. “Coincidentally” he was hired here in Warner Robins. And so Shelley and I moved here to Georgia at the exact same time! We live about 15 minutes away from eachother! We go to the same church and we joined a Bible study together. Isn’t God amazing??
Have a blessed day, friends! ~Angel

The Prize Tuesday, Mar 27 2007

Are you like me? Before I throw anything away, I look at it twice these days. I save lots of stuff. Tins, bottles and cans in all shapes and sizes can be found in my “to be stamped” cabinet. Websites I look at have me saving cardboard to make my own chipboard. I pry off magnets from anything that goes into the trash. I’m on the lookout for this or that including paper coasters from restaurants and jumbo paper clips. I could go on and on. My husband doesn’t even ask anymore when I want to buy something that looks like junk to him. Case in point, we were at an outlet mall this last weekend and I was digging through a clearance bin and found about 10 empty CD tins. My eyes sparkled as I put them in the shopping basket. My husband didn’t even raise an eyebrow. I had to laugh.
This project (which I am giving away to my “Blog Namer”) uses an “Altoid Sours” tin and water bottle caps. Carol Duvall featured this project a couple of months ago and I filed it away in my “gotta try it” memory bank. (This memory bank doesn’t work until I see something much later that jogs the memory…I hope you can relate.) This gadget is a neat little storage container for punches. I can see it being used for buttons, brads, eyelets or any little thing that you may need to store. If you’re a stamping friend this is a neat idea for you. If you’re not, this is a plea for you to save Altoid tins for me!

Blog Candy Tuesday, Mar 20 2007

Many of you may be familiar with “Blog Candy”. Lots of bloggers out there give away prizes and freebies for milestones and contests on their blogs. Many of you may even have found me because of my recent contest for naming my blog. (IF you did, I want you to know my blog will be more entertaining and feature more craft projects in the next few weeks.)
If you’re a stamper or scrapper you should head over to see Lisa at Poppy Paperie. She is handing out her own special Blog Candy and it sounds like someone will be a happy winner!

After you stop there, head on over to see Jeanna. Somebody is going to hit the jackpot there!

Got It! Friday, Mar 16 2007

Have you ever wanted something and looked for it for months only to be told it is backordered everywhere you look? I have. I’ve been wanting a scalloped oval punch for months now. I won’t even bore you with the story about how I ordered it more than once only to wait for it to come and then find out it wasn’t on it’s way because it wasn’t in stock. Well, today, I GOT IT!  But, I have so many things to do, I can’t play with it. :-( And that is SAD!
I must give a link to the website where I finally found it (thank you, Lori!) and received it from.

I would highly recommend Ellen. She was QUICK and even sent a little freebie along with it. I love it when places do that. Even a little scrap of ribbon will make a stamper happy and bring her back again to buy more!
Tomorrow I will not post. I’ll be grinning from ear to ear as I see my younger son! Have a great weekend!

A Cool Tool Thursday, Mar 15 2007

I ran across a website I want to share with my fellow stampers. Stampin Up has a background stamp which is a word search puzzle. I don’t have it yet, but it’s on my wish list. (You don’t want to know how long that list is.) Well, another technical savvy stamper, Stampin’ Kub, created a program that allows you to find all of the words in the search simply at the touch of your mouse. See what I mean by visiting the site:
http://www.stampinkub.com/tutorials/tools/wordsearch.html
You’ll also find some great tutorials and card samples there!
Well, friends, it has now been over 24 hours since my plea for help on naming my site. I’d like to say my email inbox is running close to full with ideas. But, alas, I have NONE. :-(   **insert SAD, pouty face here** I guess I need to tease you with the prize. I’ll try and get a picture posted soon. My camera is on the charger. It’s been dead for a few days and I just now got the cord found to plug it in. So, I’ll post more pics soon of both the house as it begins to look homey and the craft projects I am working on.
Thanks for visiting today!

A New Name Wednesday, Mar 14 2007

Hello, Friends!
I need your help! I’ve decided to try and come up with a catchy name for my blog. Right now it’s just “Angel”.  My blog is about “keeping in touch with friends, family and fellow stampers”. That’s why I started the blog. Can you help me come up with something imaginative? The creator of whichever title I pick will be sent a cool gift. Let’s set a deadline for entries of March 24th at which time I will choose a title from among those proposed. You can email or simply comment to this post! ANYONE can submit a title for consideration! Think about it…..

A Tuesday Tip Tuesday, Mar 13 2007

If you are a stamper, you’re going to love this! I stumbled onto this website this morning and played around for a while. I absolutely love it. Choose a Stampin Up color and it will produce a variety of combinations for you. Somebody spent a lot of time and technical know-how (of which I have none) producing this gem. I’m putting it into my favorite sites for sure. Tell me what you think!

Maybe next week when Brian is here he can help me bring my blog up to speed!
On to household chores I go. Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Monday Monday, Mar 12 2007

Good Morning! Got a busy day ahead of me so I am going to make this a quick post just to say hi! I don’t know how much I will post this week, but I will try and get on here a few times to catch you up on me. My middle Wild child is coming to visit next week on his spring break so I need to make our house look more like a home. That will keep me busy. I am so excited to be getting to see Brian. This is definitely the hardest part of our move- being away from my boys. I have now survived longer than I thought I would (nearly 3 months). We’ll have to see how I do taking him back to the airport. Oh, I can’t think about that now. On to the creative things….
I made this coaster box this weekend. Hubby had weekend duty, so I decided to try a new project to stay busy. This was lots of fun. But only thanks to my new Cropodile. It’s an amazing tool that will punch through anything. I have yet to use the eyelet setter part, but was amazed at how easily it punched through the coasters. Chipboard is all the rage in the stamping world and stampers are snatching the chipboard coasters from restaurants and such. My wonderful hubby knows I’ve been on the lookout for them. He surprised me and brought these home from the BX one day. I wasn’t sure they would work since they are thick cork, but thanks to that cropodile they did. My Splitcoast gallery will tell you what I used if you want to know the whats and hows:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=10691
In short form: the coasters are modpodged with background paper, ribbon is tied through the holes, and pretties are added to the sides.
Coaster BoxCoaster Box 2Pictures were taken from our screened-in back porch. Another favorite feature of our house.
Have a Happy Monday and please comment if you are so inclined! ~Angel
